Chelsea expected XI for FA Cup final: Kante and Kovacic among three big decisions for Liverpool

Thomas Tuchel has some huge calls to make when Chelsea take on Liverpool this afternoon .

Chelsea will meet Liverpool at Wembley this afternoon for their second domestic cup final showdown of the season.

Both teams already fought it out closely for the Carabao Cup, and there is every chance that this would be as keenly and evenly contested, which Liverpool won on penalties.

On the injury front, both Callum Hudson-Odoi and the returning Ben Chilwell are out of the team, and both have played their last games of the season due to injuries.

There had been doubts over the fitness of N’Golo Kante and the very unfortunate Mateo Kovacic, but both trained at Cobham on Thursday and Friday and there is a big chance they will be in the team.

There is also the big decision to be made on who starts up top, how many minutes they play to the strength of Lukaku or go for a more mobile front line with the big game player Kai Havertz.

Lukaku has certainly done his chances a world of good in the last few outings, with three goals in his last two Premier League games.

Kai Havertz though is the man for the big occasion.

He scored the all-important winner against Manchester City in Porto and was also the man who got the winning penalty at the Club World Cup, so it’s fair to say he loves the big stage.

Then there is the call to make on who starts along side them, the very willing yet wasteful Timo Werner or the very hard to predict Christian Pulisic, who scored against Leeds the other day.

With so many big calls to make and a chance to start the Todd Boehly era on a high, here is how we think the Chelsea team will line up today.
