Tiémoué Bakayoko, on-loan from Chelsea, was also a key figure, always sporting his blonde look throughout the victorious campaign.

Tomori’s form has earned him a place in the Three Lions squad for the on-going Nations League, and the defender revealed he would dye his hair blonde in accordance with the promise he made.

The 24-year-old defender told Gazzetta dello Sport in Italy: “I bet with Bakayoko that I would dye my hair blonde like him if we won, so I’ll have to do that too.

“Not the maximum of originality, it must be said, but it will make me have a certain effect if we think about the type of person that I am.

“When I arrived there was Covid, so the passion of the fans was something difficult to imagine. I had heard from those who played in Italy that it is crazy.

“This season I was able to live it fully. It is indescribable and, as they say, you have to see it, be inside it, because there is so much passion, so much joy. I’ll never forget it”.

The Chelsea defender has benefitted hugely from deciding to move to Italy and he has a really great chance of making the England squad for the World Cup.
