Chelsea dealt huge Victor Osimhen transfer blow as rivals 'contact' Tottenham over deadline day deal

Transfer deadline day is upon us, and both Chelsea and Tottenham are battling to get deals done before the summer window slams shut at 11pm this evening (Friday). The Blues were in action overseas on Thursday night, losing to Servette in their Conference League qualifier but edging through on aggregate thanks to an early penalty.
Attention now turns to the end of the window, and Chelsea have more work to do than most, hoping to offload a number of players while also potentially adding a proven striker. Spurs will look to add an attacker if the right opportunity presents itself. Here we round up the transfer latest surrounding both clubs.

Chelsea are said to have been handed a huge blow in their bid to land Napoli superstar Victor Osimhen, with Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli reportedly beating to the punch, holding the advantage of offering a permanent deal, with Napoli naturally preferring the money upfront.
Gianluca DiMarzio has reported: “#Osimhen to @ALAHLI_FC, parties working on final details: 4-year contract at around €40m per year. @sscnapoli expected to earn around €80m + add-ons. Release clause will be included. @SkySport.”
Toney asking price drops
In better news for Chelsea, Brentford will now reportedly accept as little as £35million to sell Iva Toney ahead of the deadline with the forward pushing for a move ahead of the window slamming shut.
Toney has been linked with Chelsea this summer and is reportedly more likely to join the Blues than rivals Arsenal, who have also been linked. Reporter Miguel Delaney told Sky Sports: “Brentford’s price for Ivan Toney has basically dropped from £60 million to £35 million”.

West Ham are said to be positioning themselves for a late move for Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso. The attacking midfielder does not seem to have a place in Ange Postecoglou’s plans for this season and was said to be close to a move to Real Betis.
The Daily Express now claim West Ham have asked about a possible Lo Celso deal after they failed to land Carlos Soler from PSG. Aston Villa are also said to be interested in the Argentine, but Betis remain favourites at this stage.
