Chelsea could bank £37 million from two deals as Saudi Arabia PIF splash the cash
Chelsea could kill two birds with one stone if Newcastle United sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.
Chelsea are looking to raise funds this summer through player sales after bringing in nine players to complement the team. They will be keeping an eye on Newcastle United’s interest in Marc Guehi, as the Saudi Arabia PIF-owned club closes in on a record-breaking £60 million transfer of the England and former Chelsea defender.

According to a report in The Times, Chelsea inserted a sell-on clause in Guehi's contract, which would see them earn 20% of any fee the Eagles receive for the defender. This means Chelsea could make around £12 million if the deal goes through.
The ripple effect of this move is already being felt, with Crystal Palace reportedly looking for players who could immediately replace Guehi in South London. One such player is Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah, who was left behind at Cobham to train with the development squad as the club looks to cash in on him.
The Metro is reporting that Chelsea values Chalobah at around £25 million. If Palace were to buy him for that fee and Saudi Arabia-backed Newcastle were to pay £60 million for Guehi, then Chelsea would be looking at a potential windfall of £35million.
This could be reinvested immediately or kept in the account to ensure compliance with the Premier League's increasingly stringent sustainability rules.
This has been a positive week for Chelsea in terms of outgoing transfers, as they have agreed on a fee with Atletico Madrid for the sale of midfielder Conor Gallagher. Gallagher had only a year left on his contract, and Chelsea risked losing him for nothing next summer, so securing more than £30million for him will be seen as a significant coup for the club.
Chelsea returned to Cobham on Tuesday after a two-week training camp in America, where they won one of their five games. They will take on Inter Milan in their final pre-season game on Sunday.
