Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is delighted to be able to call on midfielder N'Golo Kane ahead of the must-win game against Brighton and Hove Albion in the league.

French midfielder Kante, was returning from a seven-month lay-off due to injury and missed the World Cup as a consequence of that. He only played one game under Graham Potter before the English manager was sacked.

Chelsea is 11th on the league table, and manager Frank Lampard risks the unwanted record of being the first Chelsea manager to lose to the Seagulls in a league game at Stamford Bridge.

But with Kante in the team, Chelsea looks like a better much-more formidable side and will look to manage his game time especially with Madrid coming to town next week.

The Chelsea boss said: "I'll stay away from that part, that's for the club and N'Golo to discuss.

"Having worked with N'Golo before, he's an incredible player, one of the best I've been fortunate enough to work with.

"I know the positives of having him and the negatives of not because in my first season here we missed him for some big periods.

"When we had him, the impact as an individual is clear. Off the back of a four-month injury, we have to manage him.

"When you have N'Golo fit, he is clearly one of the best midfielders in the world.

"I think you see in his performances against Liverpool and Madrid having just come from an injury and he not slowing down. When he plays he always offers massive output and massive quality, I'm lucky to work with."

Brighton will be smarting from their 2-1 defeat to Tottenham and will be desperate to do a double over the Blues after beating them at the Amex earlier in the season.
