Chelsea boss confirms 20-year-old will miss Liverpool game in latest injury blow

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed his trusted 20-year-old defender will not be involved tomorrow night.

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has said Levi Colwill will miss their game against Liverpool tomorrow night but insisted the injury he picked up just before the Aston Villa game is not a 'big issue'.

He told reporters at the club's training ground at Cobham: "No. Levi is out. He suffered a minor injury in his tendon. It's not a big issue but he is going to be out for tomorrow."

The Chelsea manager also admitted Trevoh Chalobah who hasn't played all season is really close to returning after what has been a frustrating time for the English defender.

Pochettino added: "Trevoh is really close. He is doing well. I think it's only a matter of time before he's going to be involved again. But he is doing really, really well."

Chelsea have remained quiet in the transfer window and with just a day before it shuts, the Chelsea boss admitted he was more excited about the game than what the window has to offer.

He added: "No. I am excited for the game tomorrow. I think it's an amazing game tomorrow to play, a great opportunity for us to face a team that is doing really well. Of course, I am not excited for Thursday. Not too many things are going to happen. We are quiet, the market is quiet and of course, we are excited for tomorrow, the game."

The last four Chelsea vs Liverpool games have ended in draws but the Blues could move seventh on the league table if they can get three points and other results go their way.
