Chelsea claimed a narrow win in what was their first match of the new Premier League season yesterday.
The Blues handed debut starts to Kalidou Koulibaly and Raheem Stelrling, while Marc Cucurella was named on the bench only a day after joining the club.
Despite dominating possession, Chelsea struggled to break the Toffees down and eventually had to rely on a penalty call right on half-time.
Jorginho converted and gifted Thomas Tuchel’s side their first three points to get them off the mark in what could be an unsure start to the campaign for Chelsea.
Next up is a London derby as the Blues host Tottenham Hotspur next Sunday, with both sides looking for back-to-back wins.
