Chelsea and West Ham linked 88-goal Premier League bagsman 'increasingly likely' for transfer

Chelsea and West Ham target Callum Wilson is 'increasingly likely' to leave Newcastle United this summer according to reports with the Tyneside club looking to freshen up their attacking line.
The 32-year-old has had another season plagued by injury in the North East with a hamstring niggle and then a chest issue keeping him out of the side for large parts of the campaign. Wilson still managed nine top flight goals in 20 appearances but missed out on a spot in Gareth Southgate's Euro 2024 squad due to a lack of time on the pitch.

The price tag touted at that point was £20 million but, now with 12 months left on his contract, Newcastle United could be looking to accept a lower fee. The Telegraph today reports that Wilson is 'increasingly likely' to leave the club this summer in a bid to raise funds and free up space for incomings.
The outlet also links Newcastle United with a surprise transfer move for Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin as a replacement for Wilson.
Wilson joined the Magpies from AFC Bournemouth in 2020 for £20 million and was the side's principal goal threat until Alexander Isak muscled his way into being the go-to man in front of goal. Wilson has 48 goals in 108 appearances for the club, taking his total goal tally in the Premier League to 88.

When asked about his future earlier this month, Wilson said: “Finish the next four games. My first thought is to finish the season strong and then try and get myself in the Euros squad. I’m contracted to Newcastle still, so I’ll be back for pre-season.”
Meanwhile, Howe said: “Of course, I want him at the club next season. I'll do everything I can to make that happen.”
