Chelsea legend in talks with Championship club over manager role
Championship side Cardiff City are in talks with Claude Makelele over appointing the Frenchman as their new manager, LondonWorld understands.
Cardiff sacked their former manager Erol Bulut after picking up just one point from six league games, their worst start to a season in 94 years.

Hide AdOmer Riza is currently taking charge of the club on an interim basis and it’s understood a search for a new manager has been narrowed down to a list which includes France legend Makelele and Reading boss Ruben Selles.
Makelele revealed in an exclusive interview with LondonWorld last week that he was open to a new challenge following his shock dismissal from Greek side Asteras Tripoli after just three weeks in charge.
The 51-year-old shared his disappointment after initial promises were not upheld, as the club hierarchy began to interfere in team selection.
"They promised me full control of the team. It was my decision who played or didn’t play. Transfers were not my responsibility," Makélélé explained.

Hide Ad"If you want to sack me because the results are not good, that’s fine. This is football. But I don’t want people telling me who should or shouldn’t play.
"I’ll see what’s coming next. I want to make players progress," he said. "I’m happy when I see managers like Arteta, Guardiola, and Klopp – they make mistakes, but they understand how to help players grow into big players. Every big player needs their teammates to win games and progress."
