Chelsea caretaker manager Frank Lampard hinted he ripped into his players at halftime after Arsenal took a 3-0 lead in the first 30 minutes of their Premier League game at the Emirates.

Arsenal’s young captain Martin Ødegaard scored twice from practically the same move to take the game beyond the Blues before Gabriel Jesus sealed the win with a near post finish.

Noni Madueke scored in the second half for Chelsea, and to be fair he was the only one who was trying to make something happen for the visitors in a truly crumbling performance.

Raheem Sterling signed from champions Manchester City to provide goals, experience, and leadership has just found the back of the net four times in 24 league games.

Captain Cesar Azpilicueta still has the desire and passion but his legs are just not as fresh as they used to be and while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, signed from Barcelona after a successful short stint barely managed nine touches in 45 minutes against his former team in what was his first start since November.

Chelsea are 12th in the league table with 39 points- same as Bournemouth and one behind Crystal Palace who have never finished ahead of the Blues in Premier League history.

Caretaker manager Frank Lampard has lost all six games he’s been in charge after replacing Bruno Saltor who Londonworld sources say did not even want to be there after the sacking of Graham Potter.

Lampard with a hint of frustration admitted Chelsea’s marginal improvement in the second half might have been down to his halftime team talk.

The 44-year-old told reporters: “It was maybe things I said at halftime that to be fair, I said before the game. Tactical no, because I got asked before this game about playing the back five against Brentford, or playing the back four, back five, these things don’t matter if you don’t do the basics right.

“We’ve got to do the basics a bit better. We had a more dynamic nature, playing into the front and holding and making runs and getting up the pitch and creating a couple of decent chances, scoring a goal.

“Those things are good for the players to see in film. They’re small gains at the minute, but that can’t be 45 minutes, in the end, coming to a place like this.”

LondonWorld sources say despite some fans on social media calling for Lampard to be sacked before the end of the campaign, the former Everton boss is set to stay on with the board still in talks with ex-Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino to take up the job permanently next season.
