Charlton Athletic sign ex Champions League man ahead of Coventry City as Millwall get FA charge - round-up
Nathan Jones could deploy the new Charlton Athletic signing against Coventry City this weekend.
Charlton Athletic have confirmed the signing of former Montpellier and VfL Wolfsburg defender Jérôme Roussillon ahead of this weekend’s tricky trip to top of the table Coventry City.

The 32-year-old arrives at The Valley with Champions League and Europa League experience and has put pen to paper on a short term contract. Roussillon played for Union Berlin last season but only made seven Bundesliga appearances before leaving the club.
Charlton Athletic have confirmed that the defender, who is a former French youth international before electing to represent Guadeloupe, has completed his paperwork and is eligible to face Coventry City this weekend. Nathan Jones takes his side to the Coventry Building Society Arena looking to bounce back from back to back defeats against Southampton and Stoke City.

Roussillon told the club website: "I’m really happy to be here and be part of the team. I’m excited to get started and can’t wait to play in front of our supporters."
Jones added: "We’re delighted to be able to bring in someone with Jérôme’s experience. We’ve obviously been light in that area with the injury to Josh Edwards and it’s the only position that we haven’t really got cover on, so we’re pleased to bring Jérôme in to give us more competition and quality in that area."
Roussillon is naturally a left back but has also been deployed on the opposite flank in his career. He has 12 goals and 25 assists across his 342 appearances at club level.
Millwall charged by FA
Meanwhile, Southwark News report that Millwall have been charged by the FA following an alleged incident that took place in the 80th minute of the Carabao Cup defeat to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in September.
The Eagles lost that match on penalties after Ryan Leonard scored a 91st minute equaliser to level the score at 1-1 before the final whistle. The FA allege that: “Millwall FC failed to ensure its spectators and/or supporters (and anyone purporting to be supporters or followers) don’t behave in an improper, offensive and/or abusive way; and that the club failed to ensure its spectators and/or supporters don’t conduct themselves in a discriminatory manner which included a reference – whether express or implied – to disability.”
Millwall have released a statement in which they ‘strongly dispute’ the claim and promise to submit a ‘robust response’ by the December 4 deadline provided by the FA.
