Charlton Athletic vs Leyton Orient early injury news as 2 ruled out and 1 doubt for League One play-off final

A look at the early injury news ahead of the League One play-off final between Charlton Athletic and Leyton Orient.

Charlton Athletic and Leyton Orient go head-to-head in the League One play-off final on Sunday. The two London teams will battle it out for a spot in the Championship next season, with the Addicks favourites having enjoyed a stronger campaign, but Orient have shown they can punch above their weight for much of the season, and they have all the makings of a dangerous play-off team.

Orient boss Richie Wellens said after Orient’s semi-final win over Stockport County: “We’ve been absolutely outstanding. We had to give a little bit of everything. Our play in the first 15 minutes was very good, but there were mixed emotions because we were a bit naive and Stockport were better at times. We didn’t play well on the counter. But they didn’t beat us over two legs and it was our 60th game. Only Champions League teams play 60 games.

“I think if you come here, play an extra 30 minutes away from home, and have to take penalties at their end – I think ultimately we deserve to get where we’ve got. It’s not just the last six games – in the last 30 games of the regular season, no one has got more points than us, other than Birmingham. This is not a fluke. This club nearly went out of business six, seven years ago. When I came in, we were 20th in League Two. Now we’re one game away from an unbelievable level for this football club.”

As for Charlton, they defeated Wycombe Wanderers, and Nathan Jones said after the game: “The players were excellent under big pressure today. And the goal, who else would you want that to fall to? We had to keep going, keep believing. I’m demanding, relentless, difficult to work with but the players have responded and deserve all the credit. They’ve been magnificent.”

As attention turns to the League One play-off final, we have rounded up the early injury news surrounding both teams.

Dan Happe - Out

Happe will miss the rest of the season through injury. Wellens said in April: "Dan felt something pop with the last kick of the game against Wigan and he's done for the season. It's something we need to improve on. Dan is a top centre-half, I wouldn't swap him for many centre-halves in this league, but we can't keep him fit."

Miles Leaburn - Out

Leaburn is out for the season. Jones said at the time: “It has been a productive one because it was probably more productive than last year. It is a step up. He has been part of a real progression and evolution process here. And he is one that will only get better. He needs a certain amount of work around his body, and so on, to get the durability back but he has been fantastic – in how he has trained and come back from that, mentally and physically. It was really innocuous how he picked up this injury and that is the frustrating thing for us.”

Gassan Ahadme - Doubt

Jones said after the Wrexham game early in the month: “We lost Gassan (Ahadme), we lost Ashley Maynard-Brewer, we lost Lloyd (Jones). Lloyd hasn’t trained all week, he’s been on more painkillers than I can imagine and he wasn’t right today.” It was hoped Ahadme would return in the semi-finals, but he didn’t. He will remain a doubt here until confirmed otherwise.
