Charlton could lose 'fantastic' defender

Charlton Athletic could lose defender Terell Thomas this summer, despite the star being praised for playing 'fantastically well' by manager Nathan Jones recently. The 28-year-old has started every game since the Welshman's arrival as the Addicks enjoy a strong run of form.

Thomas is in the final months of his deal at The Valley, having signed a one-year extension this summer. He is currently set to leave for free at the end of the campaign.

Journalist Pete O'Rourke now reports that Hungarian top flight side Fehervar are courting the player ahead of his contract's end. Outgoings are expected at Charlton this summer but to lose the defender would be a real blow.

Praising the player recently, Jones said: “Some big players didn’t start in early games and some players are playing really well. He is one that is doing fantastically well.

“Whatever has gone on prior to me coming in doesn’t concern me. He has got real competition and three centre-halves not in the starting 11 all chomping at the bit in Lloyd [Jones], Hec [Michael Hector] and Nessy [Lucas Ness]. So the ones in the team have to play well and defend well – he has.”

Lincoln City Chief Exec banned

Lincoln City chief executive Liam Scully has been banned from Sincil Bank for one game for 'improper and threatening' conduct towards a match official - he will not be in attendance when London outfit Leyton Orient play his side today. He has also been fined £2,000.

The incident happened during the 5-0 win over Bristol Rovers in League One earlier this month. Scully accepted that his language and behaviour towards an official was improper, but denied that it had been threatening. The moment took place in the tunnel after the full-time whistle.

The one-game ban was imposed by an independent regulatory commission following the charge brought by the Football Association.
