Charlton Athletic team news
Charlton Athletic defender Reece Burke limped off after just 13 minutes against Wrexham last time out and Nathan Jones provided an update on the 29-year-old ahead of facing Birmingham City.
The manager said: "It was reminiscent of the Swansea game, it was tough in terms of injuries. Reece has had a really frustrating one - it's an injury that he's picked up that he's never had before. We did everything we could, we didn’t take him to West Brom and trained him so he would be ready for Saturday. It's a quad injury."
It sounds like Burke will miss out on Saturday with Luke Berry also a doubt having come off against Wrexham with an injury. Jones appeared to suggest the midfielder’s problem may be less serious.
Collins Sichenje is confirmed to be a doubt with a lack of minutes catching up with him. Jones also said that Amari’i Bell was ‘struggling’ on Saturday with Harvey Knibbs a longer term absentee.
Doubts - Luke Berry, Collins Sichenje, Amari’i Bell. Outs - Reece Burke, Harvey Knibbs.
Birmingham City team news
Birmingham City have seen their injury woes improve in recent weeks with players returning to fitness. However, there are some niggles that Chris Davies must continue to manage.
Paik Seung-ho had been a big miss due to a shoulder injury when missing out against Norwich City and Millwall. The midfielder returned to the squad against Middlesbrough and was handed minutes off the bench.
The main problems for the Blues are the absences of Kyogo Furuhashi, Alex Cochrane and Lee Buchanan.
Outs - Kyogo Furuhashi, Alex Cochrane and Lee Buchanan.
