Charlton Athletic fans might not have believed a five-match unbeaten run was something that the Addicks could manage this season before the appointment of Nathan Jones last month, but the Welshman is slowly turning the tide in results.

Jones has only won one match since taking over on February 4 but there have been plenty of positives. Charlton took a point away from league leaders Portsmouth and put three past Bolton Wanderers on the road, as well as the victory at Derby County.

Charlton Athletic get fitness boost for Cheltenham Town

Charlton Athletic have been handed a huge boost ahead of midweek action against Cheltenham Town in League One. Manager Nathan Jones has confirmed that striker Chuks Aneke is set to be involved.

The 30-year-old has only made 10 appearances in the league this season amid injury problems but had come off the bench four matches in a row in an unbeaten Addicks run before missing out against Northampton Town last time out.

Ahead of Tuesday night, Jones told the Charlton website: “He felt his calf was stiff after Tuesday night [at Derby]. There was no point risking him because we want him ready for Tuesday [at Cheltenham].”

Brentford transfer interest in Portsmouth starlet

Talented Portsmouth winger Abu Kamara's fine recent form has caught the attention of Premier League clubs, according to The News.

The 20-year-old is on loan at Fratton Park from Norwich City and is believed to be on the watchlist of Brentford, as well as Leicester City, Stoke City and Bundesliga side Freiburg. However, the outlet reports that Portsmouth remain 'steadfast' in their intent to not let Kamara leave the club before the end of the season and their desire to bring him back after the campaign.

Kamara has eight goals and 10 assists across 42 appearances in all competitions this season and transfer talk comes amid the star's choice to either represent England or Sierra Leone on the international stage.
