It was Brentford who checked all the medical details and brought him back to the Premier League.

His return coincided with a massive uplift in form for the Bees where he scored one goal and created four to help them in the Premier League.

The Bees are interested in signing him on a permanent basis while Manchester United are also strongly linked to sealing a deal for him.

But manager Thomas Frank says he has been in contact with the player and he would inform him if he made up his mind on where he’d be.

Thomas Frank told AS in Spain: “I coached Eriksen in the youth ranks in Denmark.

“In October, my son called me: ‘Dad, why don’t you contact Christian? He has to play football again’.

“I called Eriksen in December and asked him if he would consider playing football again at Brentford and he replied: ‘Funny thing is I thought of you too’.

“I never had any doubts that he would come back to a good level and now I hope we can retain him.”

“I know we still have a chance and I hope he will make a decision in two weeks,” he continued.

“The agreement is that he will call me and tell me what he wants to do. He hasn’t decided yet.”

The Bees are hoping that the player midfielder would have enjoyed his time with them and at least spent one more season at the Brentford Community Stadium.
