Brentford have been credited with an interest in Rennes defender Loic Bade.

The Bees are one a few Premier League clubs being linked with a move for the Ligue 1 man.

Bade, 22, has four years left on his contract with his current club.

However, Foot Mercato report that Thomas Frank’s side along with Leicester City and AFC Bournemouth are keen on him.

More on Bade

Bade only joined Rennes in July last year and penned a five-year deal.

He made 21 appearances for them in all competitions in the last campaign and chipped in with a single goal and two assists from defence.

The centre-back, who is a former France youth international, has previously played for the likes of Paris FC, Le Havre and RC Lens.

He has never played outside of his native country.

Brentford have already bolstered their options in defence by signing Ben Mee on a free transfer from Burnley, whilst Mathias Jorgensen put pen-to-paper on fresh terms.

Frank’s men have brought in five new faces this summer and have the chance to add more bodies into their squad before the deadline this week.

Other news

In other Brentford news, Halil Dervisoglu appears poised to join Burnley on loan, according to reporter Gokmen Ozcan (see below).

The forward has only played 12 times for the Bees since 2020 and has been loaned out to FC Twente and Galatasaray over recent seasons to get game time.
