Arsenal defenderBen White admits he didn’t watch Manchester City’s demolition of Liverpool on Saturday lunchtime.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta had suggested before the City game that his squad would watch their rivals in action, although White himself didn’t watch the game himself.

"I don't watch football," he told BBC Sport after the game.

"I was just focused on the [Arsenal v Leeds] game today and that's it.

“There’s a lot of noise going on outside, and everyone is just keeping it very quiet and just getting on with what we are doing.

“I don’t really know what’s right or wrong, I have never been in this position [competing in a title race] before. So we are just keeping quiet, heads down and working hard.”

The 25-year-old told Sky Sports in the past: "No I never watched football when I was younger, still don't now. I just loved the game, I was always playing it - never watching it. So I don't know too much about older generations.

“It’s so intense, you come in every day and give 100 per cent. All I want to do is go home and not think about it. Come in fresh and ready to give 100 per cent again.”

Meanwhile, Arteta praised the Arsenal supporters after the game for once again ‘transmitting energy and belief’ to his playing squad.

“We were singing the song all together - goosebumps,” he said.

“The crowd transmits energy and belief and love to the players and unconditional support. Today is another example; when we conceded the goal the reaction of the crowd was to cheer the team and that is rare to see in any stadium and is an exceptional response.

“Stay with us - we are so excited and we want to go for it. Focus on the next game and put all the energy there.”

The Gunners face a trip to Anfield on Sunday before games against West Ham, Southampton and a crucial title clash against City on April 26.
