Bayern Munich defender Sacha Boey and goalkeeper Manuel Neuer face a race against time to be fit for the Champions League quarter-final against Arsenal.

The French right back arrived from Galatasaray in January for a fee in the region of £30million and has been plagued with injury problems since joining the club.

Boey, 23, has played just twice for Bayern since arriving three months ago and it means he's unlikely to be involved in the upcoming European clash with Mikel Arteta's side.

Neuer, meanwhile, has suffered a muscular strain in his left adductor during training with the German national team.

Arsenal face Bayern in the first leg on 9 April before travelling to Munich on 17 April

"FC Bayern will be without full-back Sacha Boey for the next few weeks," read a statement on the club's official website.

"The new arrival this winter suffered a torn muscle in his left hamstring during training on Wednesday. The diagnosis was confirmed by the FC Bayern medical unit."

Bayern have also been without Noussair Mazraoui in recent games, with Joshua Kimmich filling in at right back, but they have been boosted with the news that Kingsley Coman is back in full training for the first time since December.
