Leandro Trossard was substituted during Belgium’s match against Israel but LondonWorld understands the 29-year-old was only suffering with minor bruising.

Arteta confirmed the positive update about Trossard, but revealed defender Ben White faces several months on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on a knee problem.

"[Leandro] Trossard seems to be ok. He trained this morning and seems to be feeling good,” Arteta told reporters in his pre-match press conference at the Sobha Realty Training Centre.

"Bukayo [Saka] and Declan [Rice] have their first session today. Very good [news] as well.

"Ben [White] is going to be out for months, unfortunately.

:It has been different kinds of struggles. It has never been the same thing, but we had to make a decision. He has not improved over the last few weeks, unfortunately," said Arteta, whose side host Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

"We know that Ben is going to push every boundary, but it got to the point where we have to protect the player and we decided to do the surgery.

"He agreed with that and it is going to keep him out for a few months."

Meanwhile, Riccardo Calafiori could start in Saturday’s game after he completed several training sessions this week.

"Riccy [Calafiori] trained today. He trained on the pitch this week so he's back in the squad.

"Kieran [Tierney] is not ready yet and [Takehiro] Tomiyasu is going to be out for a period."
