Next season will witness further changes to the VAR set-up following repeated calls for improvement

We are closing in on the final fixtures of the 2023/24 season with Arsenal battling with Manchester City to secure the top spot. While the Gunners are enjoying their current place at the top of the league, Pep Guardiola’s squad have a game in hand and will look to leapfrog over the Emirates side when they play catch up next week.

As tensions reach their maximum point, there remains one point of contention over which all clubs can collectively bond: VAR. Throughout the season, VAR decisions have been called into question with calls being made for its improvement next season and certain of those calls have been answered with the transparency between referees and fans to be improved.
