Arsenal are now four points clear at the top of the table following a triumphant evening at the Emirates which saw them beat Chelsea 5-0. Leandro Trossard opened up the scoring before a brace for both Kai Havertz and Ben White were added to the scorecards and while Mauricio Pochettino’s side stumbled to the end, Mikel Arteta’s squad leaped further away from Manchester City and Liverpool in the race for the Premier League.

The Cityzens do, however, have two games in hand over the Gunners and will look to seal a win over Brighton this Thursday to begin their climb back to the top.

If Manchester City win all remaining games, they will secure the Premier League title but this does not mean Arsenal cannot and following yesterday’s performance, one Gunners star has sent a strong warning ahead of their next clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

Thomas Partey made just his fifth start of an injury-plagued season when he headed out at the Emirates last night but he formed part of a formidable midfield, alongside Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice, giving Arteta welcome selection dilemma ahead of Sunday’s North London Derby.

Speaking after the match, the Ghanaian midfielder said: “Everything depends on us. We have to continue winning our games, we have a few more games left and we have to win them all. With Spurs on Sunday, the £45 million star said: “We know it is going to be a very difficult game. We know what to do. I think we have to test them.”

Arsenal’s 5-0 win over the Blues also signalled their 16th clean sheet of the season with Partey adding: “We did everything possible to beat them in every situation of the game.”

With several squad decisions set to come ahead of Sunday’s match, Arteta said after the game: “We thought it was a really good game for Thomas to come back," said Arteta. "He stepped up and had a great performance and was really important for the team. “What did I like most about that midfield trio? Everything, but also when they play Declan, Kai, and Martin or play with Emile as well or Jorginho for sure, he has played some big games and we've won some big, big games with him as well. It depends on the game, the opponent as well, it's great because everybody feels important as well, that's something really, really important now.”
