Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have entered the race for a £30 million West Ham United transfer target.

West Ham United have encountered some heavy competition for one of their transfer targets - Feyenoord's Santiago Gimenez - as London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are believed to have joined them in the race to acquire the Mexican international's signature.

This is according to a report from Football Insider, who mention that the Hammers are looking to complete a deal in the January transfer window - Arsenal and Spurs, meanwhile, are more likely to wait until the summer to begin talks. Feyenoord are thought to be 'not keen' on the idea of letting Giminez mid-season and could hold out for the Gunners and Tottenham to officially throw their respective hats into the ring.

West Ham will ramp up their efforts to make the move happen, however - the Irons are willing to sell players such as Nayef Aguerd, Danny Ings and Said Benrahma to help generate the funds necessary to bring Gimenez to the London Stadium this month.

Which club is the most likely to complete a deal for Santiago Gimenez?

Unless West Ham can force a transfer through over the course of the January transfer window, it seems unlikely that he will be headed for the London Stadium. Additionally, as mentioned earlier, Feyenoord do not want to lose Gimenez with the Eredivisie season still ongoing.

Gimenez is currently enjoying a wonderful season for De club aan de Maas, having scored an eye-watering 19 goals over the course of 17 league games, with four assists to boot. On top of this, he has also managed to score a pair of goals in the Champions League.

At the age of just 22, Gimenez's potential in the modern game seems to be limitless. He has also impressed on the international stage for Mexico (despite being born in Argentina), winning 24 caps for El Tricolor and scoring four goals.
