Arsenal are now preparing to face Real Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday night. The Gunners have a commanding 3-0 lead, but they will still need to be at their best to resist a Real Madrid side that will surely go for broke in an attempt to pull this game back. As the game approaches, we have rounded up all the latest injury news surrounding both teams.

Gabriel Jesus - Out

Jesus is out for the season with a ruptured ACL, and he is likely to return in the winter. A statement confirmed at the time: “Further to being substituted during our match with Man United, Gabriel Jesus has received extensive assessments, which have confirmed that he has sustained an injury to the ACL in his left knee.”

Takehiro Tomiyasu - Out

Tomiyasu required further surgery on his knee after spending months out. He will now remain out for the season. A statement confirmed: “Despite an initial procedure, followed by a RTT, Tomi continued to have issues with his knee, resulting in a further corrective surgical procedure. He will now begin his rehab programme, which is expected to be completed towards the end of this year.”

Kai Havertz - Out

Havertz suffered a potentially season-ending hamstring injury that required surgery in February. Arteta said at the time: “We were having a great camp in Dubai recharging, training, having some time off and connecting again with nature in a different environment, and then the injury happened in a very unexpected way.” Since then, Arteta has said he is ‘hopeful’ of Havertz returning earlier than expected to play again this season.

Gabriel Magalhaes - Out

Gabriel is the latest to have been ruled out for the season. A statement confirmed: “Gabi will undergo a surgical repair procedure to his hamstring in the coming days and immediately begin his recovery and rehabilitation programme, with the aim to be ready for the start of next season.”

Arteta has confirmed that Calafiori remains out here, but says the Italian is ‘progressing really well.’
