Premier League team of the season so far gallery including Arsenal, Newcastle United and Man Utd stars
The Premier League season has passed the half way point and Mikel Arteta’s side sit top of the league table after an incredible campaign so far.
It’s been a fascinating season in English football’s top flight so far with Arsenal holding a five point lead at the top of the league table at the end of January.
They’ve still got reigning champions Manchester City hot on their tails while Newcastle United have also been hugely impressive this campaign and Manchester United appear to be having a resurgence of their own. There’s still a long way to go but plenty of players are already staking a claim to a place in the final Premier League Team of the Season.
Here we give our opinion on the best XI of the campaign so far with Arsenal and Newcastle United stars dominating our selection. There are players who have emerged this campaign joined by others who have consistently been amongst the very best in the country. This is our Premier League Team of the Season so far:

1. GK - Nick Pope
No player has arguably been more crucial to Newcastle’s success this season than the England international stopper who leads the Premier League in clean sheets with 12 - that’s three more than second place Aaron Ramsdale’s nine.

2. RB - Kieran Trippier
Newcastle’s new ownership hasn’t been afraid to splash the cash but the former Spurs full back has been one of if not the best in their tenure - he is key for the Magpies in both attack and defence and his set pieces have been deadly.

3. CB - William Saliba
The Frenchman’s emergence at Arsenal has been one of the highlights of this excellent season for the Gunners so far - the supporters love him in North London and it’s easy to see why.

4. CB - Gabriel Magalhaes
The other half of the Gunners’ centre back partnership which has been so successful this season, the Brazilian has established himself as one of the top centre-backs in the division and, on form, is the top of the pile in his position.
