Premier League Prize Money: How much Arsenal, Chelsea and Crystal Palace would receive if season ended now

Chelsea have European qualification to play for but Arsenal and Crystal Palace also have millions of pounds at stake in the Premier League.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has come across somewhat apathetic as to his team’s final Premier League position with all focus on the Champions League and the title race now officially over.

Liverpool have got their hands on the Premier League trophy and still have four games to increase their 15 point lead on the Gunners. Arsenal supporters won’t blame Arteta for focusing on Europe at this stage of the season, with it unlikely the club won’t place high enough for Champions League football again next term, but each position in the table is worth money.

When asked if finishing second and ensuring Newcastle United and Manchester City don’t leapfrog his side in the table between now and the end of the campaign, Arteta said: “We'll see where we finish, we have to do everything that we can, game by game.”

Arsenal and Crystal Palace still have financial motivation to finish season strongly

The other half of north London are in a similar predicament with the Europa League the only real motivation for Tottenham Hotspur right now. Spurs languish in 16th place in the Premier League and are not able to finish in the top half for the first time since 2008.

Ange Postecoglou and Spurs are keen to turn the page after the 2024/25 campaign but the club could miss out on millions of pounds should they let themselves drop below West Ham to 17th. Crystal Palace are in a similar predicament amid FA Cup commitments with Chelsea still having plenty to play for in the Premier League to secure Champions League football. Brentford and Fulham are set for mid table obscurity but also have prize money to win.

Last season, top flight clubs received a total of £2.84 billion, which comprised of six payments through a central revenue system. For the 2023/24 season, Football 365 reports that the difference in prize money for each Premier League position was around £2.8 million.
