Arsenal have been offered hope of a deal involving Napoli superstar Victor Osimhen, but it would come at a cost, according to reports. The Gunners are likely to be in the market for a striker in either January or next summer after holding off on that front during the last summer window, at least in terms of an out and out goalscorer.

Kai Havertz was snapped up as an alternative forward option, but Arteta otherwise decided to go with what he has in Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus. But that may not remain the case in January or next summer, with Arsenal likely to need a goalscorer if they are going to dominate the biggest competitions, something they aspire to.

Napoli superstar Osimhen has been linked, with the forward said to be likely to leave next summer amid a bust-up with club chiefs.

Osimhen was mocked on the club’s TikTok channel, leading to him reportedly considering legal action, but there hasn’t been any serious move towards that action just yet. In the meantime, Osimhen has continued to play for Napoli, but it’s claimed the Italian club are preparing to sell him next summer, one year after they demanded well over £100million from any and all interested party.

According to Calciomercato, Napoli would be willing to sell Osimhen to Arsenal next summer, but only on one condition, and it’s a condition that Arteta may be reluctant to meet. It’s claimed Napoli would want Gabriel Jesus as part of the deal, while they would also want a significant transfer fee on top, given Arsenal only paid £50million for Jesus, while Osimhen is worth north of £100million.

Jesus has been instrumental to Arteta’s game plan since arriving at the Emirates Stadium, and he may well be reluctant to strike such a deal, even if it means he gets one of the best goalscorers in the world. In the meantime, Arsenal have also been linked with a January move for Ivan Toney, who seems keen to leave Brentford this winter when his gambling suspension ends.
