Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta refused to be drawn on questions about David Raya's performance after the 4-3 win over Luton. Raya, a summer signing on loan from Brentford, was culpable for at least two of Luton's goals against the Gunners on Tuesday night.

Arteta's side are now five points clear at the top of the league after securing all three points against the newly-promoted side.

Gabriel Martinelli scored the opener before Gabriel Osho levelled proceedings with a header in the first half. Elijah Adebayo and Ross Barkley scored in an eight-minute surge for Luton after the interval, with Raya guilty on both goals.

When asked about the performance of Raya, Arteta opted to focus on the last-gasp victory his team had just recorded instead.

"I'm so happy with the team," he told Amazon Prime.

"I have spoken with all the team and they are jumping. I'm a really happy manager today."

However, Arteta did offer a brief insight into his thinking when asked by BBC's Match of the Day crew in a separate post-match interview, saying:

"It's part of the job, but I'm really happy with the team so let's move on."

Arteta was quick to praise the performance of his opponents after the game, who will now face Manchester City in their next Premier League encounter.

"Incredible evening. First of all, congratulations to Luton, their players, staff, the atmosphere they created made it a special night to play football and they made it very hard for us.

"They are so good at set pieces and they made us really fight for the game and at the end it was a beautiful win.

"Credit to the opponent, they did really well and cause problems to any team. It's something we have to improve, conceding three goals from home makes life difficult. The team showed spirit, quality, courage to go and go again. We never gave up and tried to the end.

"Big credit to the team, the way they go every three days is remarkable. Luton have been really unlucky with their results, they are well organised and they are a threat."
