Michael Owen calls out ‘struggling’ Arsenal star after dramatic Man Utd win
Arsenal’s summer signing Kai Havertz has been called out for his moment to forget during his side’s win over Manchester United.
The Gunners pulled off a comeback to see off the Red Devils at home, with Martin Odegaard replying almost instantly after Marcus Rashford’s opener, while Declan Rice’s winner and a Gabriel Jesus strike came in stoppage time. It was an important win for Arsenal after their disappointing draw with Fulham last week.

That includes pricey summer signing Havertz, who hasn’t quite fit into Arteta’s style of play so far. During the win over United, the German had a moment to forget when he failed to control a pass, and former striker Michael Owen was left amazed by the incident.
“You just don’t see that, do you?” said Owen on Premier League Productions. “A professional footballer like simply missing the ball. If the ball is shooting across at 100 miles per hour, then okay.
“But it was all calm and it was a beautiful touch. It was right in front of him. And he missed the ball! I mean, he missed the ball!? You just don’t see that. I haven’t seen that in years and years. He missed the ball! He is struggling for confidence, isn’t he?!”

The Arsenal boss told Sky Sports: “I said to him yesterday, things are a little bit hard at the beginning. When I met my wife at the beginning it was hard to conquer her, I had to try and message and go and go.
“At the end when she said, ‘yes, we want to be together’, it’s beautiful. I said in the first day you know it’s not that great. So it’s good, but I think the crowd was really good with him today.”
