Martin Keown names Arsenal player who was 'sublime' in dominant Olympiacos win
One Arsenal player has been highlighted for his fine performance during Arsenal’s Champions League win over Olympiacos.
One Arsenal star has been singled out for praise after Wednesday night’s Champions League win over Olympiacos. Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka were both on target for the Gunners, ensuring Mikel Arteta made it back-to-back wins to kick off the group phase.

It was a relatively comfortable evening for Arsenal, who dominated proceedings, although the visitors did have a goal ruled out at 1-0, providing one nervy moment.
The goalscorers will naturally attract praise, but the Arsenal player who stood out was Martin Odegaard, who provided the assist for the second goal, while he also created four chances on the evening, the most of any player. TNT Sports pundit and Arsenal legend Martin Keown pointed out the Norwegian’s fine performance. He said: “Through midfield it is going much quicker, so instead of two or three touches, Odegaard is letting it run across his body, it is sublime the way he is passing the ball tonight.
"It is getting Arsenal away much quicker, teams can’t then re-organise. The repertoire is there tonight, this fella tonight (Odegaard) we are seeing everything in his game, it is almost like (Tom) Brady I am looking at at times. That is a high compliment for him, playing with confidence. That pressure is definitely bringing the best out of him, (Eberechi) Eze played recently in his position and he wants to keep it"
Odegaard has been dealing with a shoulder injury over recent weeks, and a resurgence of that injury saw him start from the bench last time out, with Eberechi Eze starting in the number 10 role in his absence. There was a feeling that Arsenal needed competition for places in more positions, with the winger, number 10 and centre-back positions particularly standing out.
It looks as though the Gunners have added sufficient competition to all of those positions, and Odegaard is benefitting from the arrival of Eze, who has a genuine stake to start in that position, however good Odegaard is.
