Toney latest

Manchester United are said to be considering a deal to sign Brentford striker Ivan Toney, but they will only make a move if the asking price drops. That’s according to Give Me Sport, who say Toney wants a wage of around £250,000-per-week at his next club, which could scare teams away from a deal.

Brentford are said to want around £60million despite the fact Toney only has around one year remaining on his current deal. That’s a big asking price for a 28-year-old in the final year of his deal.

Nelson ‘talks’

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Leicester City have started talks with Arsenal over the signing of Reiss Nelson, with the Gunners said to be willing to sell the winger this summer.

Romano tweeted: “EXCLUSIVE: Leicester City open talks with Arsenal for Reiss Nelson. Loan deal with obligation to buy, in talks over financial terms with Arsenal. Leicester, confident they can persuade Nelson if the clubs come to terms as he previously worked with Steve Cooper.”

Nelson has also been linked with a move to West Ham, although a deal has not been forthcoming amid a reported asking price of between £20million and £25million. The Foxes are hoping to strengthen ahead of their first season back in the Premier League, and they could now strike a deal and offer Nelson the regular football he has been craving amid struggles to nail down a spot at Arsenal, particularly amid the emergence of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli in recent years.

Duran update from agent

Jhon Duran’s agent has been speaking about the latest on the Colombian’s future amid his expected departure from Aston Villa this summer. Duran is likely to be offloaded to help Villa’s PSR issues, with a reported fee of around £40million being mentioned.

Chelsea’s interest looks to have cooled to the point of frozen, but the Hammers have been in talks over a deal, according to the player’s agent, Jonathan Herrera.

“There is a great interest on the part of West Ham, he has been talking to them and the club,” he told AS. “Let’s see what happens in the rest of the market. In the end there has been a lot of interest from several clubs in Europe for the players, but we are trying to handle this in the best way for the clubs. There is still time left on the market and we are going to make the best decision.”
