Arsenal were set to take on London City Lionesses in a rare derby after being drawn against each other in the FA Continental Cup quarter-finals.

The Gunners were set to be reunited with familiar faces Emma Mukandi and Danielle Carter but following a pitch inspection at 2.30pm, the game has had to be postponed. The pitch was reported to be waterlogged and a rearranged date will be organised shortly but as yet no date has been confirmed.

A statement published on Arsenal's website read: "The decision was made by match officials following a pitch inspection at 2.30pm. A rearranged date for the fixture will be communicated in due course. Ticket holders will be contacted directly by London City Lionesses."

At present, the three other quarter-finals are all set to take place and will see Brighton welcome Aston Villa, Chelsea welcome Sunderland and Manchester City head down to Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal are the current champions of the FA Women's League Cup, winning their sixth title in 2023 after beating Chelsea 3-1 at Selhurst Park. They are the most successful side in competition, winning in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2018 and last year. Manchester City and Chelsea are the only two other sides to have lifted the trophy.

The semi-finals are scheduled to take place on 6 and 7 March before the final is held at the Molineux Stadium on 31 March 2024.
