Liverpool are set to make a big transfer call ahead of their game against Arsenal in the third round of the FA Cup on January 7.

Liverpool could be set to give their squad a shakeup ahead of their third round FA Cup game against Arsenal on Sunday, January 7 - following an injury crisis in the left-back position, they have recalled Owen Beck from Dundee FC.

Both Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas are both currently out of action with injuries - in their last game, they were forced to play Joe Gomez as an auxiliary full-back on the left side. While he performed an admirable job, it seems that Jurgen Klopp does not view this as a long-term solution.

Following Beck's recall, Dundee wrote on their official club website: "Dundee Football Club can confirm that Liverpool have recalled Owen Beck and his loan with Dundee has ended. His great displays led to him being called up to the Welsh National squad for the first time and he has received many plaudits for his performances.

"With the January transfer window now open Liverpool FC have executed their right to recall Owen from his season-long loan deal. Owen will be greatly missed by everyone at Dundee FC as he has been outstanding both on and off the field. We would like to thank Owen for all he has given to Dundee FC and we wish him all the very best for the future. Owen will always be welcomed back in Dundee and at the Scot Foam Stadium at Dens Park."

Who are the favourites for Arsenal's game against Liverpool in the FA Cup?

Following Arsenal's poor run of form in their last three Premier League outings, it is likely that Liverpool will enter the FA Cup third round tie as the favourites to progress. In their last game, Jurgen Klopp's men overcame a valiant Newcastle United outfit, while Arsenal slumped to a worrying defeat against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
