It was an excellent Sunday for Arsenal as they beat Leeds United 1-0 at Elland Road while Liverpool handed Man City a massive set back at Anfield.
It means that the Gunners have now opened up a four point lead on Pep Guardiola’s side in second while Tottenham are level on points with the reigning champions in third.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have climbed up to fourth under Graham Potter’s leadership but have significant ground to make up even at this early stage in the season.
Despite being clear at the top of the table, the Gunners are still priced relatively highly by bookmakers to actually go on and win the title this season with City still the massive, odds-on favourites.
Perhaps surprising to some, Chelsea are also shorter odds than Spurs and Liverpool are priced in a way which suggests they might not be totally out of the race just yet - perhaps a fair assessment after their impressive win at the weekend.
Beyond thos five teams there appears to be little hope for the likes of Brighton, Manchester United and Newcastle United and the rest of the teams in the division are as good as written off.
