Jorginho’s agent addresses Arsenal exit links amid Fenerbahce interest and makes ‘question of time’ claim

Arsenal star Jorginho’s agent has spoken about his client’s future amid links with an exit after the English transfer window.

Jorginho’s agent has been speaking about his client’s Arsenal future amid links with an exit.

The Italian midfielder played a key role for the Gunners last season after arriving on a surprise move from Chelsea, but it appears as though he will need to settle for a more supplamentary role after the arrival of Declan Rice. Rice was snapped up for £100million, and Arsenal also have Thomas Partey to use in the holding midfield roles.

Jorginho has made three appearances so far this season, but all of his minutes combine to just 18 minutes.

That has led to claims the midfielder could be moved on ahead of the Turkish transfer deadline, with Fenerbahce reportedly interested. But Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos, has now ruled out a move.

He told Tuttomercato: “Jorginho is focused on Arsenal, therefore on the Premier League championship and the Champions League. He won't go to Fenerbahce."

Only one month ago, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta raved aboout Jorginho, saying: “Jorginho is a phenomenal character, he’s got so much experience. Everybody respects and loves him in there and he’s a particular character as well and he’s been really, really, really good for us.

“He needs to maintain what he’s doing but also we have to promote leadership from other areas and there are very young players there as well and now they’ve been with us for a while and they have to start to look forward and take initiative and go another step further.”

The Italian midfielder has just missed out on the Italy national team, with the recently appointed Luciano Spalletti looking elsewhere, but Santos is not concerned about his client’s international future.

He added: “The coach arrived recently, he makes his choices and that's right. It's a question of time, because Jorginho is fundamental for the national team."
