Arsenal and CHelsea have been linked with an £86million move for Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres

Viktor Gyokeres has shut down talk about a possible summer move after smashing a sensational hat-trick for Sporting Lisbon.

The Swede was the hero as Sporting smashed Boavista 6-1 on home soil to move a point clear at the top of the Primeira Liga. Those strikes took Gyokeres to 36 goals from 39 games across all competitions this season.

That is a remarkable return for a player who only arrived from Coventry City last summer. The 25-year-old tore up the Championship - attracting interest from several Premier League clubs - before moving to Portugal.

Repeating those heroics on the continent has triggered a wave of speculation regarding his future. Reports have suggested Arsenal are keeping tabs on Gyokeres as they aim to solve their striker dilemma.

It is understood that Sporting have an £86million release clause inserted into the forward’s contract, with the Gunners and Chelsea interested. Speaking after another stellar weekend, Gyokeres dismissed transfer talk - outlined his desire to complete a league and cup double at the Estadio Jose Alvalade.

"I don't think much about the future," he told Swedish publication Fotbollskanalen. “I want to win the league and the cup with Sporting. That's what I put all my energy into in the club team.

"It's clear that what I've done has been noticed, but it's not really my focus in everyday life. But of course, it's fun that I have fans who appreciate what I've done.

"We'll see this summer. It's not something I know about myself, what will happen. I enjoy Sporting extremely well and feel no stress about the summer coming quickly. Of course, it's fun. That I get appreciation and leave an impression."
