Fabrizio Romano's Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham deadline day update as 'medical tests' booked
All the latest transfer news surrounding the London clubs on deadline day.
The winter transfer deadline day is here, and the action is already underway. We are likely to see deals done across London on deadline day, with Chelsea hoping for an attacker while offloading a handful of players, while Arsenal are also hoping to land a forward.
Tottenham could make more than one signing as they look to bridge the gap left by injuries, while Crystal Palace want a defender and West Ham want a forward. Here we round up all the latest transfer news from ‘insider’ Fabrizio Romano.
Jorginho latest
Jorginho could be close to landing a deal to return to Brazil ahead of his contract expiring at the end of the season. Romano has said: “Flamengo are prepared to seal Jorginho deal in the next days valid from Clubs World Cup 2025. He’s closing in on move to Fla on free transfer from June, as Arsenal did not accept a fee for January transfer.”
Chilwell on his way
Ben Chilwell’s miserable season looks to be over, with Crystal Palace reportedly close to wrapping up a deal. Romano has said: “Ben Chilwell, set for medical tests now at Crystal Palace to join the club on loan. Chelsea approved all documents now waiting for medical and then sign. Here we go.”
Felix future decision
Joao Felix has been linked with a move away from Chelsea all month, and a deal could still take place today. Romano has tweeted: “Chelsea set to make decision on loan spot today as João Félix’s future is still open, as of now. If Chelsea agree deal for João’s loan exit with several clubs keen, Anselmino’s loan move to Olympique Marseille could collapse.”
Chukwuemeka latest
Chukwuemeka is on his way out, although Chelsea have refused to include any option to buy, which is surprising. Romano has said: “Medical today for Carney Chukwuemeka at Borussia Dortmund, all set to complete loan move from Chelsea. Full salary covered by the German club.”
New Arsenal deals
Arsenal’s two young stars Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly could be set for new contracts having both made a big impact this season. Romano has said: “New contracts for Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly will be part of the process at Arsenal after the end of the transfer window. Talks already underway.”
Ferguson deal close
In East London, West Ham are close to wrapping up a deal for Brighton striker Evan Ferguson, who is set to join on loan. Romano tweeded: “West Ham and Brighton have exchanged all documents for Evan Ferguson deal. Formal signature expected in the morning after medical done.”
