Arsenal are reportedly set to be offered an alternative deal for a player they want to offload.

Arsenal are reportedly set to receive a loan player they may want to sell this summer. The Gunners are still yet to make real progress on the transfer front despite making David Raya’s stay permanent for around £27million.

The Gunners are expected to bring in a number of new players this summer as they look to go one better with their title bid, but they also need to offload a number of fringe stars. Having spent more than £200million last summer, Arsenal must balance the books to ensure they stay in line with Profit and Sustainability rules.

With that, the Gunners have reportedly decided to offload a number of their fringe stars, with Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga already out the door, albeit temporarily for now. Emile Smith Rowe, Kieran Tierney, Jakob Kiwior, Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah are also reportedly on the chop-block.

But the latter could prove difficult to sell given Arsenal are likely to want a significant fee to sell. The Gunners have to be careful with their asking price because while Nketiah has proved his quality at times, he only has 19 goals in 116 league appearances.

Arsenal may need to make alternative arrangements if they can’t sell, and according to L’Equipe, French giants Marseille are considering a loan offer for the striker. Though, the good news for Arsenal is that the loan bid would come with an obligatory purchase clause that would see the Gunners get their transfer windfall further down the road.

The problem with that is that Arsenal would not get any significant money towards their Profit and Sustainability mission, but other offers may not be forthcoming, and especially not at the price the Gunners are demanding, which is rumoured to be somewhere between £20million and £30million.

Injury blows

Arsenal will be missing two senior players for their US tour, it has been confirmed. Takehiro Tomiyasu has picked up a knee injury and will remain home to undergo treatment and to build his fitness.

The same applies to Kieran Tierney, who has a hamstring injury from his time at Euro 2024 with Scotland. Tierney may well be offloaded this summer in any case, and training in North London may make a deal easier to strike. Arsenal’s full squad is as follows, with Gabriel Magalhaes Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz joining from July 25, while Declan Rice, Aaron Ramsdale, Bukayo Saka, David Raya and William Saliba not travelling due to extended holiday on the back of Euro 2024. Goalkeepers: Karl Hein, Tommy Setford, Lucas Nygaard, Alexei Rojas

Defenders: Ben White, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jurrien Timber, Josh Nichols, Jakub Kiwior, Ayden Heaven, Omar Rekik

Midfielders: Thomas Partey, Jorginho, Michal Rosiak, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Martin Odegaard, Emile Smith Rowe, Fabio Vieira, Ethan Nwaneri, Salah–Eddine Oulad M’Hand, Jimi Gower
