We are in the midst of a heated Premier League title race between Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal. Recently, a spanner has been thrown in the works for the Citizens - one of their star men, Erling Haaland, limped off the training field during international duty with Norway.

However, an update has been issued regarding the 23-year-old's injury condition. According to Norwegian channel TV 2 [via The Mirror], Haaland has 'no problem' - indicating that the injury is far from severe.

This may come as a blow to Arsenal and Liverpool supporters - Haaland's absence could have been a hammer blow for the Sky Blues' title chances had he been ruled out for significant period of time. However, with this recent update, it seems that he will be fit to play in their next game against the Gunners.

How important is Erling Haaland to Manchester City's title chances?

While Haaland may be one of the most dangerous and prolific forwards in world football, he is not necessarily City's most important player - they have proven they can be successful without him. The Norwegian international missed out on five games this season with a previous injury - during this run, the Citizens won four of them, drawing the other.

Contrast this with Rodri, who City rely upon to recycle possession and build their attacking play from the base of midfield. He has missed three games this season in the Premier League, all due to suspension - the Sky Blues lost each of these three encounters.

As such, while fans of Arsenal, Liverpool and City will all be sweating over Haaland's availability, they may want to temper their expectations. Haaland is obviously a fantastic player and is one of the best strikers in the world - but Pep Guardiola's men can function effectively without him. Arsenal face City in a huge Premier League clash on Sunday, March 31.
