'Disciplined and steady' - Arsenal star posts 6.5/10 performance in international win and Fulham star scores
One of Arsenal’s players enjoyed a big win with his nation on Sunday evening.
One of Arsena;s stars started for an important win for his national side on Sunday. Denmark are locked in a close battle with Scotland for automatic World Cup qualification, and that made Sunday’s 3-1 win over Greece an important one.

Rasmus Hojlund, Mikkel Damsgaard and Joachim Andersen were on the scoresheet to take Denmark to 10 points, level with Scotland with just two games remaining.
Arsenal star Christian Norgaard started the game in midfield and played a full 90 minutes, earning a 6.5 rating from SportsDunia. They resoned: “Disciplined in the deeper role, he shielded the defense and passed safely. Faded late but did his job. Steady performance.”
Norgaard will be delighted to have gotten a full game having had to settle for a supplamentary role with Arsenal this season. He is yet to feature in the Premier League, making one appearance in the Carabao Cup and another in the Champions League, while he also came off the bench for Denmark’s last outing during this international window.
Denmark finish their World Cup qualifying campaign in November, taking on Belarus before facing Scotland away from home in the final game, which will likely be the decider for the automatic qualification spot. Both teams are already assured of at least a play-off spot at this stage.
Denmark win but left unsatisfied
Speaking after the game, Fulham star and goalscorer Andersen told TV2: “It wasn't our best game – not even the first half, even though we were leading 3-0. I think we were a bit too long in the team and came to pressure at every moment, when perhaps we could have chosen our moments a little better.
“We weren't close enough, and so it became a bit of an open game with some ‘tjubang football’ (Danish term). In the second half we were perhaps a bit tired and lost a few too many balls in the middle.”
Denmark boss Brian Riemer added: “I am happy that we have seen a Danish national team that has an easy time scoring goals. We have scored three goals on average per match, which I think is very good, also because after all we have met Greece twice and also Scotland, and of course Belarus.”
Midfielder Morten Hjulmand said: “I think that overall we did not play our best game and the level we expect. In the first half it was very even for the first 20 minutes. We were lucky that they made such big mistakes.
“In the second half, I think we saw some signs of weakness when they were reduced. But also in the minutes leading up to when we didn't hold on to the ball well enough. There wasn't enough quality. We opened a match that shouldn't have been opened. We must never let Greece into a game like this. I think everyone in the stadium thought it would be on the line if they scored 3-2, which they had the chances to do, so we are not happy with that.
“We are very satisfied with the three points. That was the goal before the match, and we are in a good position in the group.”
