Liverpool are currently sitting at the top of the Premier League table, with Manchester City and Arsenal in hot pursuit. But how would the league table look if it was solely based on xG? Today, we'll look to find an answer to that question.
For those who don't know, xG is the measurement of the amount of goals that a team is expected to score, based on the shots they take and more importantly, the quality of the chances created. For example, a half-hearted effort from 30 yards out may net you an xG value of 0.01 - meanwhile, a strike from inside the six-yard box will net you a much higher xG score.
