The Gunners remain very much in the hunt for a Champions League spot and are currently three points behind North London rivals Spurs with the season approaching its final month.
A return to European football’s elite competition will be the first and only focus for Arteta and his squad as they look to overhaul Antonio Conte’s side before the end of the season.
But the hard work is only just getting underway for the Spaniard as he looks to further strengthen his squad this summer in a bid to seriously challenge for major honours in his second full season in charge at the Emirates Stadium.
A whole host of eye-catching names have been linked with a move to the club in recent months and it looks highly likely to be a hectic summer for the Gunners.
There will be departures with Mohamed Elneny, Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette all set to leave the club when their contracts come to an end in June.
There will be a heavy focus on strengthening Arteta’s forward options but that is far from his only priority during another busy close-season.
