Winger was eyed
According to a report by German news outlet Bild, Arsenal ‘wanted’ to land Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens in the last transfer window along with league rivals Chelsea and Newcastle United. The 19-year-old, who is an England youth international, is being tipped for a bright future in the game and ended up staying in Germany beyond the deadline at the start of September.
Bynoe-Gittens joined Dortmund in 2020 from Manchester City and has since made 25 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga outfit, chipping in with three goals. The Reading-born man is under contract until 2028 meaning his current club are under no pressure to cash in on him anytime soon unless an offer that they can’t refuse comes in.
