Arsenal get bid 'accepted' as player jets to Singapore to complete deal
All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Arsenal as they prepare for their summer opener.
Arsenal are now just hours away from kicking off their pre-season campaign in Singapore, facing AC Milan at just after midday UK Time on Wednesday. The Gunners fans will get their chance to get a first look at some of the new signings in an Arsenal short, and there is no shortage of new signings.

Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta have been plenty busy in the summer window so far, and we are expecting to see more new signings in the coming weeks. Here we round up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Emirates Stadium.
Gyokeres boost
Arsenal are said to have won the race to sign Sporting CP after weeks of negotiations. Fabrizio Romano wrote on X: “BREAKING: Viktor Gyökeres to Arsenal, here we go! Verbal agreement in place between all parties involved.
“Sporting accept last bid from Arsenal for €63.5m plus €10m, agent will reduce his commission. Gyökeres will sign five year deal at #AFC. He ONLY wanted Arsenal.” Gyokeres will surely become Arsenal’s new starting striker, with Kai Havertz also set to compete for a spot, although he might have better luck in other positions now that Gyokeres is inbound.
Mosquera update
Arsenal are still waiting to announce the signing of Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia after weeks of negotiations and recent reports of having agreed a deal. Earlier this week, it was reported in Spain that the only thing missing for a Mosquera move to Arsenal was the player’s signature.
A fresh claim The Athletic. goes along with that, with the report adding that Mosquera will now jet off to Singapore, where Arsenal are currently based, to sign his contract and complete his move from Valencia to the Gunners. He will then immediately link up with his new teammates.
Arteta speaks
Arsenal boss Arteta has been speaking from Singapore. he said: “We are super excited to be here. It’s been an incredible welcome from our supporters here, they are so passionate. We are adapting as well to the context, the weather, we weren't able to train this morning, so we have to adapt to those situations as well.”
He added on the club’s recruitment: “It's like shaking the tree again and bringing new faces. They bring new excitement, a new energy as well. We signed very important players as well. Again, everybody feels like their height has to go to a different level, and that's what we're seeking. Ideally, you want it (transfers) done on day one in pre-season. We've done very, very well so far. I'm very pleased with the way the club is supporting the necessities and improvements that we required in the team.
“Andrea [Berta] and the team have done an excellent job as well, trying to push everything forward. There's still a long time to go in that window. We have a lot of hope that we can still improve the team. We're going to continue to try to do that.”
