The club have confirmed the game is a sell out as Jonas Eidevall’s side look to progress to the final of the UEFA Women’s Champions League by defeating German giants Wolsburg.

The tie is finely poised after Arsenal staged a superb comeback to draw 2-2 in Germany last weekend thanks to goals from Rafaelle Souza and Stina Blackstenius and now a record Emirates crowd will look to roar them on as they look to secure a place at the Eindhoven final on Saturday 3 June.

Over 60,000 tickets for the clash have been sold, with the North London side set to smash their own record which was broken earlier in the season when 53,000 fans packed in the stadium for their derby clash with Tottenham Hotspur - though the prize of a win that time would be an even bigger reward.

“It’s wonderful news that such a huge match for us has sold out,” said Arsenal Chief Executive Vinai Venkatesham.

“We would like to say thank you to our supporters, with over 60,000 tickets sold for Monday’s match. We also say thank you for your fantastic support throughout the season – at Emirates Stadium, at Meadow Park and at grounds across England and Europe.

“It promises to be an exciting night in north London and we’re delighted that Jonas and our women’s first team will have the backing of so many supporters on this big occasion in the club’s history.”

Arsenal team news

Unless you live on the moon, it is no secret that the Gunners have had a season that has been severly hindered by injury and - as expected - Leah Williamson, Beth Mead, Vivianne Miedema and Kim Little will all be absent for the match on Monday night.

Caitlin Foord has an outside chance of being available after being absent since the 5-1 win at Spurs in late March with a hamstring injury. Swedish boss Eidevall had opted for a 3-4-3 formation in last weekend’s first leg draw in Germany but depending on the fitness of Foord could revert back to a back four. Lina Hurtig is fit to return to the squad.
