Arsenal are back in Premier League action this weekend at home to Manchester City. The Gunners are a point behind their upcoming opponents in the table. Mikel Arteta’s side were beaten to the title last term by Pep Guardiola’s men. They will be looking to take top spot in this campaign.

On the injury front, Arsenal are hoping attacker Bukayo Saka can be fit after he went off against Lens last time out. The England international has scored five goals in 10 games so far this term.

Arteta has said: “He is in contention, we’ll see how he progresses from here to Sunday. Obviously he had to leave the pitch [against Lens], that’s never good news, but let’s see how he recovers.”

The Gunners will also have to make a decision on fellow winger Gabriel Martinelli. The Brazil international hasn’t featured since 17th September and is a doubt still.

Summer signing Jurrien Timber is sidelined on a long-term basis with an ACL injury and won’t be seen until 2024. However, on a more positive note for the London outfit, Thomas Partey, Fabio Vieira, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus are all available again following knocks.

As for City, midfielder Rodri remains suspended after he picked up a red card against Nottingham Forest earlier this month. He has one more game to sit out having already missed their clashes against Newcastle United (Carabao Cup) and Wolves.

Bernardo Silva and John Stones returned to their squad against RB Leipzig in the Champions League in their latest game, with Silva starting the match. The latter was an unused substitute.

Kevin de Bruyne remains in the treatment room. That will be good news for Arsenal as they look to pick up all three points.

Doubts: Saka, Martinelli (Arsenal).

Out: Timber (Arsenal); Rodri, De Bruyne (City).
