All the latest news surrounding Arsenal as pre-season preparations begin to take shape.

Arsenal are already working hard to prepare for the new season just weeks after finishing the last campaign. The Gunners enjoyed a solid 2022/23, leading the Premier League for much of the season before ultimately giving way to Manchester City.

But Mikel Arteta will want to take his side that extra step further by winning the Premier League in the coming season while also putting up a good fight in the Champions League. New signings will be required to ensure that level of performance, and with that in mind, we have rounded up all the latest news surrounding the Emirates Stadium.

Timber sparks speculation

A reported Arsenal transfer target has missed training according to a fresh report. The Gunners are said to be interested in Ajax defender Jurrien Timber, reportedly submitting an opening proposal worth £30million recently.

Ajax are said to want as much as £50million this summer, but the Daily Mail have reported that the two clubs have a verbal agreement over a £40million deal, meeting in the middle. According to Tribal Football, Timber was not present for Ajax training on Monday, sparking increased speculation, but there could yet be an explanation for the absence.

Marquinhos claim

Arsenal are said to be considering a shock sale this summer just one year after making a signing. The Gunners snapped up talent Marquinhos last summer, but according to Sky Sports, Edu and Mikel Arteta are still discussing what to do with the forward, hoping to work out what is best for him.

It’s claimed another loan deal is on the cards after Marquinhos spent time at Norwich City, but a permanent deal has not been ruled out yet. Arsenal did sign Marquinhos for less than £3million, so they could potentially make a quick buck on the Brazilian, but a sale at this stage would be a surprise.
