Chelsea vice-captain Jorginho has put pen-to-paper on a contract until the summer of 2024 after Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta pushed for the deal to get done.

The Gunners pursued a deal for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo but were told by the Seagulls that he would not be sold this month.

Here is a look at the state of play in north London on Deadline Day.

Incomings?

Arsenal will complete the signing of Jorginho on Tuesday afternoon after agreeing a £12million fee with Chelsea, LondonWorld can confirm.

The 31-year-old is expected to come in and bolster Arsenal’s midfield options with Mohamed Elneny currently sidelined with a knee injury. A fee in the region of £12million has been agreed for a contract until the summer of 2024 and there will be an option included to extend the deal by an extra year.

However, the pursuit of Brighton star Caicedo appears to be over until the summer at least, with Arsenal opting against making a third bid for the 21 year old in excess of £70million.

Outgoings?

Fulham are pushing to complete the signing of Cedric Soares on loan.

Marco Silva confirmed on Friday that he is still hoping to sign two players before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

The Cottagers have identified Cedric as an ideal acquisition due to his experience and versatility, but currently have two designated domestic loans and need to resolve that situation first.

LondonWorld understands that there is also late interest from one Premier League team and a La Liga side for the Portugese.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace look set to sign Albert Sambi Lokonga on loan with Jorginho’s arrival allowing the Belgium international to leave for regular game time at Selhurst Park.
