Arsenal have taken advantage of the World Cup by revamping the Emirates Stadium during the break. The Gunners won’t return to home turf until Boxing Day.

Arsenal have confirmed they had launched a new artwork at the front of the stadium ahead of fans’ return and will be the first time it has been touched since it opened in 2006. The new artwork will feature club legends such as Thierry Henry and Tony Adams, as well as the club’s crest.

A statement made by the club read: “Since April, we’ve enjoyed extensive consultations with a broad and diverse range of supporters on the new artwork that will adorn the Emirates Stadium exterior. We started with a blank piece of paper and the sole intention of working with our community to create art that would express what Arsenal means in 2023.

“With the commitment, support and input of the Arsenal family, we’re now very close to finalising eight pieces of art that are true to who we are, what we are, and who we represent as a club. We’re excited to launch the new artwork in January and many supporters may have noticed that, as the World Cup brings a break in our men’s fixtures, we’ve already started to remove the existing art. While this means the stadium will be ‘bare’ for a few weeks, we hope you’ll agree it will be worth the wait! We look forward to sharing more details soon.”
