Ian Wright and Frank Lampard believe Arsenal are signing 'fantastic' Chelsea man who is 'real prospect'
Chelsea winger Noni Madueke is set to become the second Blues player to make the switch to Arsenal this summer.
Arsenal are set to take their summer shopping spree to Premier League rivals Chelsea once again and bring winger Noni Madueke to the Emirates Stadium ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Recruiting on the flanks is one of the priorities for sporting director Andrea Berta and the club with questions over the future of Leandro Trossard and having had to cope without an injured Bukayo Saka for a chunk of the last campaign.
Real Madrid star Rodrygo and Athletic Bilbao man Nico Williams have both been linked but it now appears that Madueke will come through the doors. The 23-year-old follows Kepa Arrizabalaga in making the switch from Stamford Bridge this summer.
Arsenal set to sign Noni Madueke
Providing the latest on the transfer on Saturday, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano wrote: “Noni Madueke has returned to England from the US with medical tests to follow as new Arsenal player. All documents are ready between clubs after £52m package deal agreed on Thursday.”
Madueke is a player that Arsenal fans will know well. The England international has faced no club more than Arsenal, turning out six times against the Gunners, with one goal in a 3-1 defeat in 2023.
The winger has become a well known danger in the Premier League but the signs of a talent were there from the early days. Madueke arrived at Chelsea in January 2023, scoring his first goal in that match against Arsenal shortly afterwards, but wasted no time in settling in.
Chelsea winger praised by Frank Lampard and Ian Wright
Madueke was particularly impressive in a 3-1 win over AFC Bournemouth in May 2023 and, despite not scoring, was praised by then Chelsea manager Frank Lampard. The ex Premier League midfielder said: “Noni was very sharp, considering he was not so well on Wednesday, Thursday. He trained yesterday.
“I thought he was really good against Arsenal in a tough game and got his goal. And again today [vs Bournemouth], he’s got a fantastic one-on-one ability to go past people. I like him as a lad, he’s got really good energy. He will know that because he’s hungry, and I want that. It’s been a breath of fresh air, him coming in and he’s training well to deserve that.”
The performance also caught the eye of Arsenal legend Ian Wright. He predicted big things for the player as he worked on Match of the Day: “I think today he made the difference. Frank started him at Arsenal and said the reason why he put him in was because of how hard he’s been working in training to try to get that consistency to try to get himself in the team, and he’s done it.
“He was very, very good today, gave Vina a lot of problems. The problem with him though, is his final ball. He holds it for too long and he’s going to have to learn quickly to make better decisions in that instance. He’s got this kind of ability to go past people and as time goes by he will feed it into the box, he’ll start to get that in his game, and once he does, Chelsea will have a real prospect on their hands.”
